FAQ - FCP Groton Online Car Parts Distributor
Q. How will I know if the parts I see will fit my vehicle?
A. Our 'fitment guide' tab will literally give you an exact
list of model and year that the parts you're viewing will work with. If you have any
doubt, simply click the 'fitment guide' tab to find out.
Q. What is OEM, and how does it relate to my part?
A. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer and means
that the replacement part itself is made by the manufacturer of the original part used in the vehicle. For
example, if your Volvo's stock suspension system fails, an OEM replacement would be Lemforder brand, as that
was the original suspension system used when the Volvo was built. OEM is
considered to be very high quality.
Q. What is an Aftermarket part?
A. Aftermarket as it relates to car parts essentially means
it's a non-factory produced part. While it is not Genuine or OEM quality, it fits the model of
the vehicle, and is generally a more affordable solution than a genuine or OEM quality
part.
Q. I can't find the part I want on your website, does that
mean you don't carry it?
A. No. We're in the process of developing our online
catalog, and we continue to add products daily. If you can't find what you're looking for, please give us a
call and we'll get you what you need over the phone.
Q. When will my order by shipped?
A. Your order will usually be shipped the same business day
if ordered by 2PM Eastern time. Orders placed on the weekend will ship out on
Monday.
Q. How can I track my order?
A. You will be sent an email from our server with a tracking
number as soon as the order has been shipped.
Q. Why is there a Core in my shopping cart?
A. There are some products that we sell which are rebuilt.
This charge is refundable upon your return of the part you are replacing. If
you do not return the part, your core charge will not be refunded.
Q. What is a VIN?
A Vin is your Vehile Identification Number
Q. Where is my Chassis Number?
A. This will be the last 6 digits of your vin.
Q. What and where is a FC (Factory Code)?
A. The FC refers to the factory code, ie plant where your
car was made. This can be found in the VIN and is the 7th to the last digit
from the end.
Q. How do I know what is left or right?

drivers side as you were sitting in the car
• Right = Passenger
